This initiative provides opportunities for migrants and refugees to engage directly with policy makers. We do this through public meetings with high profile speakers on relevant topics. These unique meetings and events focus on an agenda set by MRCF participants — not policy makers, who are offered the voice and input from real people.
Engage to Change invites partner and member organisations, individuals, and staff to meetings and events and offers opportunities to directly influence policy makers and foster stronger partnerships for future action. Some events include training to build the capacity of participants for action.
Our members have met with:
- More than 40 MPs
- Leaders from the NHS
- National campaigning organisations (Liberty)
- Other civil society groups (London Citizens)
- Newspapers and Media (The Guardian)
Research
MRCF’s ongoing research is conducted in partnership with the Migrants Rights Network. Evidence is gathered during public meetings and other in-depth interviews and supplemented with additional research. MRCF and MRN are currently examining possible effects of public cuts on MRCOs and services they provide.
