What We Do

MRCF operates as a community hub with membership organisations set up and run by and for migrants and refugees. MRCF works holistically with individuals to help rebuild and improve their lives in the UK. The Forum also works at the community level, advocating for the rights of groups and communities for accountable and responsive services.

Areas of Work

Community Hub

The Forum has three rooms for hire for community meetings and activities and shared office space for refugee and migrant community organisations.

Mentoring

During the last 3 years, MRCF has supported over 75 vulnerable and isolated migrants, refugees and asylum seekers through individual and group mentoring. We pair individuals with volunteer mentors and then support them in a range of ways to tackle life’s challenges.

Organisation Development

At the heart of MRCF’s work is organisation development. We bring together many migrant and refugee community groups to problem solve about how to more fully integrate their members to mainstream UK society.

Research & Policy

As an umbrella organization, MRCF is directly connected to grassroots, frontline community organisations. Together, we offer a unique voice and experience of migrants and refugees living out the government’s immigration policies. Our research is embedded in this evidence and our policy advice aims for better integration for all.

Education & Training

One of MRCF's main services is providing education and training opportunities for migrants and refugees to enable them to participate fully in British society. Trainings range from employment to language to digital activism. MRCF has also supported overseas dentists during their training and coordinated the Moroccan oral history initiative.

Advice

MRCF employs a Generalist Adviser to improve access to legal advice for disadvantaged BME residents in North West London.
